13 February 2002

Bedroom electronica artist Andrew Pekler—born in Uzbekistan, raised in Marin County north of San Francisco, and now living in Heidelberg, Germany—is set to release his fourth instrumental album in late April. To be titled Station To Station, the eight track LP will appear in CD and vinyl formats on Berlin’s ~scape Records (home to Burnt Friedman & The Nu Dub Players, Kit Clayton, Jan Jelinek, and Pole).
Station To Station follows Pekler’s 2000 LP Transition, on which he called himself Sad Rockets (see our review). On the new one he goes under his own name and continues his explorations of the intersection of space jazz with techno psychedelics.
Tracks on the CD are You Are Here, Tubular Hells Bells, Station To Station, Summer In The City (Winter Version), Manchild, Ste, Station To Station Blues, First Snow, and Last Year. | ~scape Records | | Sad Rockets review on Rockbites | | Sad Rockets on Matador Records | | Twenty Six (full length MP3 from Transition) | | top of page |
