Piggie, featuring Luna's Wareham, tours North Am film fests 4 September 2003 Piggie did well enough at IFP to quickly earn it slots at three more film festivals. It shows the 19th and 20th of this month at the Woodstock Film Festival in Rhinebeck and Hunter, New York, near Woodstock. Then next month it shows the 3rd and 5th of October at The Vancouver Film Festival, and later in October at the Hamptons International Film Festival—which has already named Wareham a 'rising star.' Alison Bagnell, who co-wrote with Vincent Gallo his breakthrough film Buffalo 66, directed the new film—which features a completely alternate version of L’Avventura album track Knives From Bavaria, retaining only the melody and Phillips’ magical, dreamlike vocals but singing different lyrics. Speaking of alternate versions, Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3 next month (on 7 October) releases a remix EP featuring augmented/reworked versions of songs from L’Avventura. Stay tuned for a review. | Piggie at Woodstock Film Festival | | The Hamptons International Film Festival | | Vancouver International Film Festival | | Luna | | L'Avventura review on Rockbites | | top of page | |
