Manchester's Oceansize riding hype wave in UK

Manchester heavy/spacerock five-piece Oceansize, who formed in 2000, released their debut album at the end of September for the UK only. Titled Effloresce, the 75-minute disc has attracted across-the-board hype from the likes of The Face, Kerrang!, and NME in England.
    The band played Austin’s South by Southwest festival last year and scored a glowing mention in Rolling Stone, but remain all but unknown in North America—with no announcement of a US release. If you’re not in the UK, you can get their record as an overpriced import, or get it directly online from UK retailers such as Amazon.co.uk.
    Oceansize cite influences ranging from Tortoise to Can to Black Sabbath, while their single Catalyst sounds distinctly like fellow Mancunians, Doves. We’ve provided a link to a streaming RealVideo version of the song.
    The band are on a major UK tour that started on 2 October and continutes tonight in Brighton. The dates are
