Tex La Homa posts new MP3s, appears on Spanish compilation 31 March 2003 The LP blends Shaw’s half-whispered crooning with polychrome distortion, heart-breakingly pretty melodies, and massive, low-frequency electronics to create a sequence of chilled-out, cinematic ballads (not to be mistaken with post rock, a genre Shaw claims to not understand) that is sometimes reminiscent of Tim Keegan’s Departure Lounge, with less sweetness and lots more surrealism. It’s difficult to find the beautiful Dazzle Me in any store, online or otherwise, but you can pick it up directly from the label—check our link. Shaw recently posted two new songs on his Tex La Homa Website, available as free MP3 downloads: Of Electronic Origin and Wrote To Say. He’s also working on a remix CD to be titled Remedicated, slated to appear in late spring on Superglider. The newest Tex La Homa track on disc is Always, appearing on a Spanish compilation album from new label Moonpalace Records titled simply A Moonpalace Records Compilation. Other artists on the album include For Stars, American Analog Set, The Walkabouts, Racingpaperairplanes, and Dakota Suite. | Tex La Homa | | Superglider records | | Moonpalace records | | interview on Soit Dit En Passant (in French and English) | | Douglas Coupland | | Generation X neologisms | | top of page | |
