3 March 2003

Northern England girl/boy noise pop quartet We Start Fires head back to the studio this month to cut another EP. It’s the follow-up to last year’s debut 4-track disc, How To Be A Lady (still available from their online shop), and last fall’s Beauty Pageant EP which you can pick up only at their shows.
Tracks on the new CD will be Tim Hardin’s If I Was A Carpenter (popularized by Bob Dylan), Bang Bang, Ruby Slippers, and Next Exit.
The band started a series of UK dates last night in Manchester and continue this evening in Sheffield, fitting appearances around their studio schedule. The tour includes their first ever gig in Ireland on 4 April.
The upcoming We Start Fires gigs are

8 - Peterborough (The Boys Head)
22 - Cambridge (The Portland Arms, w/ Cosy Cosy & We Can Build you)
24 - Newcastle (The Head of Steam, w/ Kavolchy & Hooker)
