Long time coming: East River Pipe's new LP slated for fall
24 March 2003
image
East River Pipe, the semi-legendary lo-fi project of F.M. Cornog which he launched back in 1989 with a self-titled, cassette-only album, has finished recording LP number five. Very eagerly awaited by fans, it will come out this fall on Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s Merge Records—with a final title that hasn’t changed from the curious working name first announced in the fall of 2000: Garbageheads On Endless Stun.
Songs on the powerful but laid-back new set touch on money, US society, and relationships. Titles are Where Does All The Money Go?, Monumental Freaks, I Won’t Dream About The Girl, I Bought A Gun In Irvington, Girls On The Freeway, The Long Black Cloud, Arrival Pad #19, Streetwalkin’ Jean, Stare The Graveyard Down, Millionaires Of Doubt, and It’s Always Been This Way.
East River Pipe doesn’t tour, sorry to say, but the new disc should become available this fall directly from Merge Records and in your favorite indie shop. | East River Pipe on Merge Records | | ERP on Epitonic | | Rockbites review of Shining Hours In A Can | | top of page |
