Young People, now NYC-based, gear up for world tour
24 March 2003

Avant-garde surrealist-folk trio Young People have relocated from Los Angeles to New York city and are about to release a 12" single as a follow-up to last year’s stunningly odd and original debut LP. They finished recording the new disc earlier this year and will put it out on New York’s Hand Held Heart records.
The band includes founder Jeff Rosenberg (ex Pink And Brown, Lumen, Tarantel), guitarist Jarrett Silberman (ex The Get Hustle, The Uphill Gardeners, The Hansel And Gretel Disease Forest, The Sound Of The Soil, The Jews; and co-founder of LA’s The Smell club), and vocalist/dancer Katie Eastburn (previously in LA’s The Janet Pants Dans Theater group).
After playing a few gigs in and around NYC this month they’ll head out on a full US tour supporting The Liars, and in June they plan to head to Europe for a full tour—possibly continuing elsewhere in the world after that.
You can pick up a free MP3 version of new song Ne'er Do Well from the band’s Website, or just use our direct link. The bands upcoming NYC dates are

March
26 - New York city (Prentis Bldg on Columbia University campus) with V for Vendetta, The Intima

April
6 - New York city (Tonic) with Tyondai Braxton, Mira Billotte (of Quix*o*tic), and Andy McCleod
