22 July 2003

Self-styled cartoon-pop hero and social activist Mercury Boy is out to save the world through campy, metal-glam, sci-fi pop songs and benefit shows for social causes. The NYC-based artist’s next benefit performance takes place this Saturday at 3:30 pm in Washington, DC as part of an all day celebration in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the Center for Creative Nonviolence—a model homeless shelter in the heart of the US capital.
In addition to free shelter for 1,350 men, women, and children—the largest facility of its kind in the USA—CCNV offers clothing, meals, literacy education, and medical care. They depend on donations as well as corporate sponsorship, with support levels ranging from $50 through $2500. Check their website for details.
You can download three full length MP3 songs from Mercury Boy’s new record at MP3.com, and order the disc from CD Baby. Check our links.
