EMusic, expanding roster, adds Audio Dregs label
22 July 2003

Renegade online music source EMusic, who allow unlimited downloads of non-copyprotected MP3 files for a flat monthly fee, continue to add new music each week.
The site, which features mostly indie artists, is a bit of an irony as it’s owned by Universal/Vivendi—one of the so-called big five labels and party to so much draconian legal shenanigans involving online music and artist’s rights.
Most recently, the relatively-artist-friendly EMusic added the catalog of Portland, Oregon’s Audio Dregs label, who specialize in quiet, mostly-instrumental electroambience. Bands on their roster and now available on EMusic are E*Rock (Audio Dregs’ founder, who recently released his debut LP), E*Vax (the label’s co-founder, and E*Rock’s brother), Inkblot, The Sensualists, Dim Dim, The Grace Period, Carpet Musics, Supersprite, and Lullatone.
