The Sick Lipstick release debut LP, return to road
10 July 2003

Toronto avant-noise-wave quartet The Sick Lipstick this week released their debut album Sting Sting Sting on New York indie label Tiger Style.
Singer Lindsey Gillard and keyboards player Mark McLean, both previously in Black Cat #13, formed the band a couple of years ago—since then adding guitar player Allan Graham and, last summer, drummer Dennis Amos.
You may have seen them touring in 2001 with XBXRX, or heard their track Teenage Robots on the 5 Rue Christine compilation If The Twenty-First Century Didn’t Exist, It Would Be Necessary To Invent It.
The band finish up a Canadian tour next Tuesday with a benefit show in Toronto for Blocks, an independent-artist recording club/collective. They start a mostly-US, two-dozen-plus date tour on 19 July in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. See their Website for details.
You can pick up their debut CD from Insound. Check the band’s site first for a discount coupon. | The Sick Lipstick | | Tiger Style records | | band info on Deleted Art (Sweden) | | interview on Blank Generation | | Thighmaster (full length MP3) | | top of page |
