French chilltronica duo Air (Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin) will release on 25 March for the US a live album recorded in collaboration with Italian writer Alessandro Baricco. The set includes over an hour of original music (mixed by Nigel Godrich of Radiohead fame), in the form of three pieces, overlayed with Baricco’s recitation of excerpts—in Italian—of his work. The LP will be called City Reading.
Meanwhile, Air are in the midst of recording a new studio album which they hope to release this year. And the band’s own record label, which they named Record Makers, releases in March a compilation of wide-ranging French pop titled I Hear Voices. Included will be tracks by Damien, A Visible Boy, Los Chicros, Jack Lahana, Maxence Cyrin, Hypno-Love, Mr Learn, DSL, Electroménager, Newton, Mathieu Persan, Dayan Korolic, Notre Dame, Thomas Winter, and D.I.E.U. Check the I Hear Voices page for details. | Air | | Alessandro Baricco | | I Hear Voices | | top of page |
