David J releases second preview of upcoming full-length 17 February 2003 To finance that vision he auctioned some of his, and rock’s, past, including instruments, clothing, and handwritten lyrics from the Bauhaus and Love And Rockets days. Last summer he released the first taste of the new LP—its working title changed from Maladies, Ballads And Bruises to the less prosaic Estranged—in the form of a five-track EP that featured Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters on background vocals and guitar, and Steven Perkins (drums) and Dave Navarro (guitar) from Janes Addiction. See our review, link below. David J and HeyDay Records have now released a second taste, another five track EP titled Mess Up. In addition to the title track the disc has Goth Girls In Southern California, Jeanna Fine, Good To Be Loved, and Mexican Drugstore. You can download an MP3 version of Goth Girls with our link. The album itself is due soon, but we don’t yet have a solid release date for you. | David J | | Goth Girls (full length MP3) | | HeyDay Records | | Fan site | | Guitar Man review on Rockbites | | top of page | |
