The Vermicious Knid sign to AntiAntenna, ready new EP
14 May 2002

Brantford, Ontario hard pop four-piece The Vermicious Knid (Tim Ford and Ryan Stanley, both on vocals and guitars, plus bass player Brian Ward and drummer Jesse Shanks) manage to meld elements of sub-genres all over the guitar-rock map, often within a song—and... the tricky part... make the seams dissappear. A couple of weeks ago they signed to Toronto’s tiny AntiAntenna label, run by 22 year old Ryan Mills, who will release their second EP on 25 June for North America.
(There’s an unrelated band from Philadelphia named Vernicious Knid, with an 'n'—so the Canadians got it right, eh?)
The new disc, titled Days That Stand Still, follows VK’s self-released August, 2001 debut EP, We're Running Out of Places to Drive. Tracks (which include three also appearing on their debut) are Every Bears Life Guide, Belly Grasp, No-Life Crisis, Finding Seventeen Hands, Streets And Headlights, and Breathing Pattern. It’ll be available shortly directly from the label’s Website.
The Vermicious Knid play a series of Ontario shows starting Friday in Burlington, including a CD release party at the end of the month in Brantford with The Sour Keys, Slight Return, Thugz, The Thurstons, Driven By Mistake, and Faint Smudge . Then on 6 June they start a major Canadian tour in Ottawa with The Sour Keys, wrapping up on 23 June in Hamilton. The venues are still being confirmed; check their shows page for details. | The Vermicious Knid | | VK on AntiAntenna | | MP3s from MP3.com | | AntiAntenna order page | | top of page |
