14 May 2002

NYC based psychedelic trio The Secret Machines (brothers Benjamin and Brandon Curtis, both previously in UFOFU; with Josh Garza, previously in Comet) began as a side project/experimental collective born of Dallas band Captain Audio—they originally called the project The Secret Machines Of Captain Audio.
Last summer The Secret Machines recorded their debut EP, September 000, at Chicago’s Clava Studios with studio owner/drummer/engineer/producer Brian Deck (Red Red Meat, Tortoise, Modest Mouse, The Sea And Cake). This past November they moved to New York, and a couple of months ago they released their very tasty six-track EP on NYC’s Ace Fu Records.
On 29 May The Secret Machines start a brief midwest US tour as protégés of, and opening for, Austin guitar rockers ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. The dates are

May
29 - Oklahoma City (Green Door)
30 - Kansas City (El Torreon)
31 - Minneapolis (First Avenue)

June
  2 - Chicago (Metro)
3 - Columbus (Newport Music Hall)
  4 - Detroit (Majestic Theater)
  5 - Buffalo (Showplace Theater)
  6 - Pittsburgh (Club Lage)
  7 - St. Louis (Galaxy)
