The Agenda sign to Kindercore, reveal debut tour
8 March 2002

Athens, Georgia based Kindercore Records, known for their forward-looking and off-center pop and twee, have signed their first punk band. It’s The Agenda, also from Athens—a quintet who have yet to release any records or even play live.
The band’s first ever gig will be a free in-store performance at 33 Degrees Records in Austin on 15 March at 3 pm. The next night they’ll play the Kindercore South By Southwest festival showcase.
A spokesperson tells us that Athens radio stations have been playing the two MP3 files available from the band’s Website: I Want The Panic and 50,000 Watts of Love.
Following SXSW, The Agenda (J.R. Suicide on vocals, Ryan Riot on guitar, Digital Dan on organ, Ian The Face on bass, and Switchblade Stevie on drums) hit the road opening for label mates, synth/vocal duo I Am The World Trade Center—who have determined that it has now been long enough to take back their original name. For a few months they were just I Am The World but fan demand has now outpaced misguided indignation.
Later this spring The Agenda will enter the studio to record their not-yet-titled debut album, slated for a late summer release on Kindercore.
The upcoming dates for The Agenda and I Am The World Trade Center are

March
16 - Austin, TX (Buffalo Billiards-SXSW festival)
18 - Denton, TX (TBA)
19 - New Orleans, LA (Hi-Ho)
20 - Orlando, FL (TBA)
21 - Miami, FL (Club 5922)
22 - Jacksonville, FL (Jackrabbits)
23 - Charleston, SC (TBA)
