Terrastock 4 festival video comp available
27 March 2002

The Ptolemaic Terrascope Magazine, based in Meksham, England (near Bristol), has just made available a video compilation of their Terrascope 4 festival held in Seattle in November 2000, featuring a rare appearance by Mudhoney side project The Monkeywrench. You can pick up the 15-band tape in either NTSC or PAL formats.
The full roster on the video comp is Abunai!, The Alchemysts, Bardo Pond, The Bevis Frond, Children of the Rainbow, Damon & Naomi with Ghost, Ethereal Counterbalance, The Green Pajamas, Major Stars, The Monkeywrench, Pat Orchard, Six Organs of Admittance, Subarachnoid Space, Tarentel, and Windy & Carl.
The next Terrastock International Music Festival takes place 11-13 October at the Middle East club in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As usual (and like the All Tomorrow’s Parties series), bands will appear on the Terrastock 5 roster by invitation only—the organizers pride themselves on their independence from label and agency pressure. You can buy tickets now on the festival Website (check our link).
Previous Terrastocks were held in Providence (1997), San Francisco (1998), London (1999), and Seattle (2000). The name “Terrastock” is apparently an assembly of the magazine name (Terrascope), in turn derived from Captain Beefheart’s song Tarotplane, and the upstate New York town name Woodstock now associated with the 1969 festival. | video ordering info | | Terrastock 5 info | | The Monkeywrench - fan site | | top of page |
