The Kickovers to release debut on new label

Former Grand Royal Records president Mark Kates has launched a new label in Boston called Fenway Recordings. His first signing last year was a new band called The Brakes—who soon changed their name to The Kickovers—led by former Mighty Mighty Bosstone guitarist Nate Albert.
    Albert worked on his new LP throughout 2001 at Boston’s Wooly Mammoth Studios, getting help from members of Weezer, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Orbit, The Shods, Frank Black And The Catholics, and The Neighborhoods. The new album will be called Osaka and features 13 ’80s-tinged songs about relationships—good, fucked up, and otherwise. We’ll bring you a full review closer to the US release date, 23 April.
    The Kickovers played one date this past Sunday in Somerville, Massachusetts, and launch their debut tour on 9 April at the Crocodile Rock Café in Allentown Pennsylvania. The shows are
