Hot Hot Heat sign to Sub Pop for EP, LP
25 March 2002
image
Vancouver, British Columbia mod/dream/dance-pop four piece Hot Hot Heat (Steve Bays - voice & keyboards, Dante Decaro - guitar, Dustin Hawthorne - bass, Paul Hawley - drums)—who are equally comfortable quoting early art-punk from Wire or any era of shapeshifters The Cure—have signed to Seattle’s Sub Pop records for the release of a five song EP due 23 April, titled Knock Knock Knock. A full length on Sub Pop will follow, perhaps later this year.
HHH have previously released a full length on OHEV Records titled Scenes One Through Thirteen, and a few singles and split EPs on other Canadian labels. Their upcoming EP was co-produced with the very active Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie, who has also worked recently with The Long Winters and Andrea Maxand. The band are putting together a major North American tour for this summer.
