Julie Doiron on North Am northeast tour previewing new LP

Moncton, New Brunswick native turned Montréaler, singer/songwriter Julie Doiron aka Broken Girl, has been very busy in the studio of late. Last August she released the mostly French—and all-dreamy—solo album titled Desormais, she sang on the new Snailhouse album, and next month her new English-language full-length Heart And Crime comes out on Jagjaguwar in association with Endearing Records.
Doiron—who played bass in Canadian noise pop band Eric’s Trip, and played with them last fall during a farewell Canada-only tour—began a solo US tour last night in Buffalo. She’ll hit cafés and small clubs in nine states before heading back north for a few Canada shows. The dates are
