The Long Winters to record LP number 2 this summer

Alaska-born, Seattle-based singer/songwriter/guitarist John Roderick’s new band The Long Winters are finishing up a US tour over the next week with Ken Stringfellow (The Posies; live member of R.E.M. and Big Star) and Modesto stoner/psych band Fiver—see below for dates.
    On the tour The Long Winters—who include Harvey Danger front man Sean Nelson and Western State Hurricans drummer Michael Shilling—have become a stunningly tight band, as we were lucky enough to find out a couple of nights ago in San Francisco. They are playing most of their poignant but rockin’ debut The Worst You Can Do Is Harm (see our review—link below) along with a couple of new songs to be included on their next LP: More Than Shapes and The Sound Coming Down.
    Before they hit the road this spring they recorded demo versions of 13 new songs up in Seattle. They’re booked for recording sessions in July, with producer and Long Winters studio member Chris Walla, on the way toward their second album with Barsuk—to be released as early as later this year.

15 - Seattle, WA (Paradox Theatre)
