28 June 2002
image
The more colorful half of now dead Washington, DC retro act Make Up, vocalist Ian Svenonius (ex Nation Of Ulyses) and bassist Michelle Mae (ex Frumpies) have a new band they call The Scene Creamers. The pair have enlisted DC guitarist Alex Minoff (ex Golden, Six Finger Satellite), and are apparently talking to Olympia, Washington’s K Records about a debut album—more details as we get them. No word yet on a more extensive tour.
Over the past couple of months The Scene Creamers have been playing some US east coast shows and have now revealed the dates for a brief east coast/midwest US tour starting 18 July in Philadelphia.
The dates for The Scene Creamers’ first tour are

July
18 - Philadelphia (Northstar)
19 - Boston, MA (Middle East)
20 - New London, CT (TBA)
22 - Pittsburgh, PA (TBA)
23 - Cleveland, OH (Grog Shop)
24 - Detroit, MI (CPOP Club)
25 - Columbus, OH (Little Brother's)
26 - Chicago, IL (Fireside Bowl)
27 - Cincinnati, OH (The Southgate House)
