Cex working on two full-length CDs for next year
5 July 2002

Baltimore, Maryland solo experimental electronica/hip-hop artist Cex (Rjyan Kidwell), who’s previously worked with Oakland, California’s Tigerbeat6 label, signed with Temporary Residence early this year. We’ve just learned that he’s working on not one but two albums for release in Spring 2003 under the working title of Being Ridden.
The two LPs, to be sold individually, will be vocal and instrumental versions of the same tracks: You Kiss Like You’re Dead, Not Real, Not Working, Signal Katied, Cex at Arm’s Length, Stamina, Settle Up, Moving Alone in Other Countries, Brer Rjyan, Stillnaut, and Nevermind.
Jeremy Devine’s Temporary Residence label, meanwhile, is getting ready to relocate from Baltimore to Portland, Oregon later this summer. At the same time they’re readying new albums by Sonna and Anomoanon, both due November, and a new EP by Parlour in the same timeframe.
Subscribers to the label’s Travels In Constants limited-edition CD series, who haven’t received the balance of Series 2, will have to continue waiting a bit. TR’s best estimate is that the next installment should arrive next month with EPs by Kilowatthours, Joshua Torres (aka Jefre from Tarentel), and At Right Angles (aka Nathan from Halifax Pier). | Cex | | Cex fan site | | Temporary Residence | | top of page |
