London dance/pop trio Saint Etienne (Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs) return in September with their first album since 2000’s Sound Of Water (not counting last year’s B-sided LP, Interlude). It’s titled Finisterre and slated to appear on Matra Recordings on 30 September.
Tracks will be Action, Amateur, Language Lab, Soft Like me, Summerisle, Stop And Think It Over, Shower Scene, The Way We Live Now, New Thing, B92, The More You Know, and Finisterre.
The first single from Finisterre will be the lead-off track, to be released 26 August on Mantra in two CD versions: CD1 includes non-LP tracks Andersen Unbound and 7 Summers, while CD2 comprises remixes of Action by Mr. Joshua, DJ Tiesto, and Laub.
Saint Etienne play next month in London on the 15th at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, and on 10 October at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
Also next month they will play at the 56th annual Edinburgh Film Festival on 20 August. They’ll play a dozen songs, live, to accompany as many short films they’ve made about life in London. Saint Etienne expect to announce details of a full UK tour soon. | Saint Etienne on Mantra | | Saint Etienne (semi-official) | | SE at Edinburgh Film Festival | | discography | | top of page |
