St. Thomas to release European, US debut (update)
22 January 2002

UPDATE 22 January (original story 17 Jan 2002): 25 year old Norwegian folk rocker Thomas Hansen aka St. Thomas is set to release his second album, and his first on his new label City Slang, to be titled I’m Coming Home. Somewhat of a Northern European Neil Young, Hansen is a major star in his native country and is all set to make waves throughout Europe and perhaps even Stateside.
The songs on the forthcoming St. Thomas LP (due 28 January in the UK and 4 February in Europe on City Slang, then in April in the US on Misra) were recorded in a house outside Bergen last spring, during the same sessions that gave rise to his summer 2001 Cornerman EP. Guest artists on the disc are Robert Jønnum (also the producer), Bosse Litzheim, Espen Mellingen, Eivind Schou, Vegard Andreassen, and Guro Strande.
Previous St. Thomas releases were on Norwegian label Racing Junior, and before that on even more limited distribution from Krank Records and Darjeeling Sounds.
St. Thomas has temporarily relocated from Oslo to Berlin (home to City Slang) where he’s recording his next LP. | St. Thomas on Racing Junior | | St. Thomas on City Slang | | Mysterious Walks (full length MP3) | | top of page |
