The Vanishing to stage live debut this month
2 January 2002

Sadie Shaw, filmmaker, and guitarist for critically acclaimed San Francisco art rock project The Lies, has a new band she calls The Vanishing. The announcement coincides with Lies’ vocalist Dale Shaw picking up stakes and moving to New York—an event which apparently does not signal the end of The Lies but does mean they won’t be playing live much. Their forthcoming Cali tour (17 & 18 January in Los Angeles, the 19th in San Pedro, and the 20th in Santa Ana) will be their last for the forseeable future.
Meanwhile, the Vanishing (Sadie Shaw along with Jessie Trashed of Subtonix and Brian Hock of Robotronic) will stage a live debut on 26 January at The Werepad in San Francisco immediately after the first public screening of Shaw’s new film Charm. Contact the venue for more information. | The Lies on Kill Rock Stars | | Interview from SF Weekly | | The Werepad | | The Charm soundtrack | | top of page |
