Amazing Grease offers limited edition Noise Pop double CD
7 February 2002

San Francisco indie label Amazing Grease (founded two years ago by Scott Kannberg aka Spiral Stairs, ex Pavement guitarist and now front man for Preston School Of Industry) will release a limited edition double CD commemorating ten years of Noise Pop festivals. Street date for the set is 12 March, but the label hopes to have the Digipacks for sale at Noise Pop gigs later this month.
(The 10th annual Noise Pop festival runs 26 February through 3 March in and around San Francisco.)
The double CD includes 43 tracks, 21 of which were previously unreleased. All the artists represented have played Noise Pop festivals, or will this year. You can see a full tracklisting on the CD’s page at the Amazing Grease Website (check our link), but here’s a taste: Beulah, The Court And Spark, Creeper Lagoon, Death Cab For Cutie, The Flaming Lips, For Stars, Guided By Voices, I Am Spoonbender, Imperial Teen, Mates Of State, The Oranger, The Pattern, Spoon, and John Vanderslice.
You can pre-order the double CD now direct from Amazing Grease. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the set will go to San Francisco’s nonprofit Popular Noise Foundation, of which Kannberg is a founding member. The PNF seeks to improve the lot of independent musicians in the Bay Area. | CD from Amazing Grease | | Amazing Grease Records | | Noise Pop | | The Popular Noise Foundation | | top of page |
