Cocteau Twins founder and guitarist Robin Guthrie’s new project Violet Indiana have announced a short, five stop North American debut tour along the west coast starting Friday in Seattle. They’re supporting their new, US only album Casino, released 22 January on Instinct Records.
The new album follows VI’s 2001 debut Roulette—out on Instinct in the US and on Bella Union in the UK. Casino is a collection of most of the tracks from the duo’s three UK EPs, Choke, Killer Eyes, and Special; plus three previously unreleased tracks: Bang Bang, Ne Me Quitte Pas, and Heaven.
Violet Indiana are the duo of Guthrie along with vocalist and songwriter Siobhan De Maré, who truly comes into her own working with Guthrie having previously recorded with Mono.
The upcoming US dates for Violet Indiana are

February
22 - Seattle, WA (The Crocodile)
23 - Vancouver, BC (Richards on Richards)
25 - Portland, OR (Berbati’s Pan)
27 - San Francisco, CA (The Great American Music Hall)
