14 February 2002

New York postmodern blues-rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs (guitarist Nick Zinner, vocalist Karen O, and drummer Brian Chase), surfing a growing hype wave, have booked their first ever tour on the coattails of Girls Against Boys and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Dates are already set for the eastern US, playing various gigs with GvsB, Milemarker, and Arab On Radar (see below). They’ll soon announce European dates for this spring, when they’ll open for JSBX who will be promoting their first album of the 21st century, Plastic Fang.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs have one disc out, their self-titled EP, recorded last year with Jerry Teel (Knoxville Girls, Boss Hog, Chrome Cranks, The Honeymoon Killers). It’s available in the US on the Shifty label at better record stores and from online sources such as Insound; and in Europe on Witchita Recordings.
