The Music recording 2nd EP, set Japan dates

Young UK aggressive pop quartet The Music, who we first mentioned in these pages in early December (check our 'older news' link), are now in the studio recording their second EP with producer/engineer Jim Abbis (Björk, DJ Shadow/U.N.K.L.E, Sneaker Pimps). The sessions are for an EP slated for release this year, but some of the tracks may go instead to the band’s first album.
    Tracks in production are The People, Jag Tune, Let Love Be The Healer, Life, and Turn Out The Light. The forthcoming EP follows the band’s November debut, the EP You Might As Well Try To Fuck Me, produced by Lenny Franchi (Björk, Curve, Garbage, Tricky, and Wire).
    Prestigious music mag/Website NME said about The Music last fall, to their predominantly UK audience: “Not all amazing new bands have to be American you know. So next to the Strokes and The White Stripes, you should also be getting frothily excited about Leeds’ The Music.”
    Having toured Europe last month, The Music have postponed a four stop UK tour to allow them to open on 5 April for Doves in London. They’ve also set a pair of dates in late April in Japan.
