Cat Power reschedules eastern US tour
12 February 2002

New York experimental singer/songwriter Chan Marshall aka Cat Power had to postpone a recent eastern US tour following an injury to her hand while playing basketball. She’s feeling better and has announced new February dates for most of the original cities—although shows in Georgia will have to wait for her next US tour, coming together for April. One show, originally slated for 8 February in Athens at The University of Georgia, cannot be rescheduled.
Also on tap for Chan are a couple of US west coast shows. Cat Power plays the first-ever US leg of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival next month, followed by a show in San Francisco.
Product wise, you can find Cat Power on the January 2002 various artists collection Sonic Youth Presents All Tomorrow’s Parties 1.1, on which she performs Robert Johnson’s blues classic Come On In My Kitchen—a cover not present on her 2000 LP The Covers Record. Other artists on the new ATP album include Bardo Pond, Cannibal Ox, The Dead C, Stephen Malkmus, Papa M, Sonic Youth, and Stereolab.
The upcoming Cat Power dates are

February
24 - Providence, RI (Met Cafe)
25 - Boston, MA (Coolidge)
26 - Brooklyn, NY (Warsaw)
27 - Purchase, NY (SUNY Purchase)
28 - Tivoli, NY (Milagros Church)

March
