Belle & Sebastian to play Coachella 2002

Glasgow twee icons Belle & Sebastian are confirmed to play this year’s Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival, which takes place 27-28 April at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Other early artist confirmations for the annual event are Blonde Redhead, Icelandic composer/vocalist Björk (Björk Gudmundsdóttir), Britpop statesmen Oasis, and Braintree, England techno act The Prodigy.
    Belle & Sebastian recently finished work on their forthcoming LP, Storytelling, billed as music inspired by the film of the same name (Storytelling is the new film directed by Todd Solondz, known for Happiness and Welcome To The Dollhouse). Matador Records expects to release the Storytelling CD in late spring for the US to coincide with a US tour.
    First, though, the band visit the UK and Europe starting 16 March. The dates are
