9 April 2002

Italian-American, North Boston singer/songwriter Eileen Rose is set to open eight US shows for former Pixies front man Frank Black starting the 26th in Little Rock, Arkansas. She’s supporting her second album, Long Shot Novena, out last month for the US on Rough Trade/Sanctuary, and out since February for the UK.
Compared by the press to everyone from Marianne Faithful to Ani DiFranco to Bob Dylan, Rose is former vocalist for Boston area acts Daisy Chain, Medici Slot Machine, and Fledgling. Long Shot Novena follows her 2000 solo debut, Shine Like It Does—which came out first for the UK and then was repackaged for US release in 2001 with additional tracks from her Party Dress EP.
The Frank Black/Eileen Rose tour dates are

April
26 - Little Rock, AR (Juanita's Cantina Ballroom)
27 - Louisville, KY (Phoenix Hill Tavern )
28 - Chicago, IL (Double Door)
29 - Chicago, IL (Double Door)
30 - Lincoln, NE (Rococo Theater)

May
1 - Lawrence, KS (The Bottleneck)
  3 - Albuquerque, NM (Launchpad)
5 - Los Angeles, CA (Knitting Factory)

Eileen Rose plays London’s Borderline on 13 May.
