3 April 2002

Late tonight on the Conan O’Brien show on NBC television, Dean Wareham’s country-tinged rock band Luna will peform their chill-inducing new song Love Dust. It’s part of the run-up to the release of their first album in three years, Romantica, out 23 April on NYC’s Jetset records. (We’ll bring you a full review next week.)
Wareham established Galaxie 500 in 1986, then left in ’91. He worked briefly with Mercury Rev before forming Luna. Of the current lineup, Wareham is the only original member.
New York area residents can also catch Luna Monday, 22 April at the 4th & Broadway Tower Records, where they’ll perform a free show.
Luna have confirmed a handful of northeast US shows for the first half of May—check their site. They will soon announce additional dates taking them across the US and back, ending 22 June in North Carolina. They’ll play NYC on 28 June. | Luna | | Jetset Records | | TV Guide (for showtimes) | | CD from Amazon US | | discography | | top of page |
