26 April 2002

Olympia, Washington (by way of Searcy, Arkansas) blues/noise/lesbian/punk trio The Gossip—vocalist Beth Ditto, drummer Kathy Mendonca, and guitarist Nathan Howdeshell—release a very cool new CD-EP/vinyl 10" titled Arkansas Heat in a couple of weeks on the Kill Rock Stars label. It follows last year’s debut LP by the band and features six new minimalist, in your face rockers: Arkansas Heat, Rules For Luv, Ain’t It The Truth, Gone Tomorrow, Lily White Hands, and (Take Back) The Revolution. We’ll bring you a full review in early May.
And right after the disc hits stores, The Gossip take to the road for six weeks of US & Canada shows starting 10 May in Seattle and running into the summer for a homecoming finale in Olympia.
Tomorrow night they’ll play Olympia’s Capitol Theatre with Austin, Texas blues/metal band Those Peabodys and Olympia experimental/noise act Growing. The tour dates are
