Spring 2002 Essential Festival to be Webcast
25 April 2002

The springtime installment of the UK’s 3-day, bank holiday weekend Essential Festival of music takes place this year at Ashton Court in Bristol, 4-6 May from 1 pm through 11 pm (10:30 on Monday). It’s a significantly smaller version of the London Essential Festival in August, but the Bristol leg will still host nearly 200 artists.
This year, Aurora Broadcasting will provide an interactive Webcast of the festival including live feeds from three of the event’s seven stages. The Webcast will also feature live chat and band interviews. They’ll archive all the music feeds for access on demand.
The festival is structured into a Dance day on Saturday, an Indie/Rock day on Sunday, and a Roots day on Bank Holiday Monday. The lineup includes (among many others) Paul Daley (of Leftfield), Fila Brazillia, Herbaliser, Plaid, The Beta Band, Supergrass, Seafood, Therapy?, Rocket From The Crypt, Alec Empire, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Earl Brutus, Sick Of It All, Jello Biafra, De La Soul, Culture, and DJ sets by Orbital, Nitin Sawhney, and Afro Celt Sound System. | Essential Festival Webcast | | top of page |
