Athens, Georgia experimental/chill/twee duo Azure Ray worked with Moby (Richard Melville Hall) last year on a track for his first album in three years, 18, set for worldwide release next month.
Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Orenda Fink and keyboards player/vocalist Maria Taylor, both also in Now It’s Overhead and previously in Little Red Rocket and Bright Eyes, co-wrote The Great Escape with Moby for the upcoming album. 18 also features collaborations with Sinead O’Connor, MC Lyte, and Angie Stone
Azure Ray’s second release, an EP titled November, came out in January on Nebraska’s Saddle Creek Records—following by a year their gorgeous, self-titled debut on Athens indie Warm Electronic Recordings.
Azure Ray’s second full-length, Burn And Shiver—produced once again by Eric Bachmann of Archers Of Loaf/Crooked Fingers, and again on Warm—hits US stores next week. | Azure Ray | | 18 CD from Amazon US | | November EP from Amazon US | | Burn And Shiver CD from Amazon US | | top of page |
