Beulah announce dates for US tour behind 3rd album
7 September 2001

The seeds for San Francisco pop collective Beulah were planted in 1994 when founders Miles Kurosky and Bill Swan met as mail boys working at a securities company. The project has evolved steadily from bedroom recordings, first released in 1997, through self-produced studio work and collaboration with Elephant Six artists.
On 1999’s When Your Heartstrings Break, Kurosky (vocals, guitar) and Swan (vocals, trumpet, guitar) led a six-piece Beulah (Bill Evans, keyboards; Steve La Follette, bass & keyboards; Patrick Noel, keyboards; Danny Sullivan, drums) along with an ensemble of 18 guest musicians. But for the new set The Coast Is Never Clear they returned to DIY, renting instruments (such as tubular bells or harp) as needed and just playing everything themselves. The album comes out for the US on Velocett records on CD next Tuesday, and on vinyl a week later.
