Preston School Of Industry post MP3s, assemble fall tour
10 September 2001

When indie icons Pavement split nearly two years ago during a UK tour for their swan song Terror Twilight, members alluded to side projects in the works—which we now know as Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, on the one hand, and Scott Kannberg (aka Spiral Stairs) with his new band Preston School Of Industry on the other.
PSOI released their debut EP Goodbye To The Edge City this summer on Kannberg’s own Amazing Grease Records imprint (also home to Carlos, Oranger, The Moore Brothers), and just a couple of weeks ago released their debut album All This Sounds Gas on Matador for the US and on Domino for the UK.
Matador has now posted a full length MP3 version of album track Whalebones, along with a bunch of RealAudio clips, a RealVideo interview, and four acoustic peformances on video from a live set on WNYU-FM radio earlier this year.
PSOI are putting together a fall tour of the US and Canada, with a few dates already confirmed... which are

October
26-27 - Seattle, WA (Graceland)
31 - Winnepeg, MB (Pyramid Cabaret)

November
4 - Cleveland, OH (Beachland Ballroom)
5 - Toronto, ONT (Horseshoe Tavern)
