theboylucas releases MP3-only track through City Slang 8 October 2001
The disc is on tiny but important UK indie imprint Output Recordings and is available through Amazon UK; it remains obscure like its artist, although it has picked up some highly favorable press from such sources as the NME. Output Recordings is home to Four Tet, Circlesquare, and 7 Hurtz. It’s headed up by producer Trevor Jackson, aka The Underdog and Playgroup, who has remixed, among many others, The Cure, Death In Vegas, Massive Attack, and U2. Now Berlin based City Slang Records has scored an exlusive with theboylucas: they have posted, for the month of October only, a free MP3 download of the non-album track The Buoy Burnt Blue. The nearly five minute track features guitars, piano, drums, and processed vocals. It is gentle, surrealistic, and evocative—and definitely recommended.
