Ribbon Effect release debut LP 30 October 2001 The band composed the five track, 55 minute set over several months in collaboration with video artist Joel Ross, writing the music in concert with Rosss 3-monitor visuals as a multimedia project and performing it at a variety of Chicago clubs and galleries. They point out in an interview in the ezine Ten By Ten that the sound and vision components evolved together, playing off each other as segments were written and rewritten. Ribbon Effect are multi-instrumentalists Jacob Ross and Danielle Malkoff with drummer Bill Talsma.
