First GSL compilation LP due in November
3 October 2001

San Diego, California indie label Gold Standard Laboratories, who signed on At The Drive In guitarist Omar Rodriguez as a business partner early this year, are readying their first ever compilation album. They recently said “Having resisted the idea for 8 years we’re giving in (sort of) to popular demand and the simple fact that all these bands SHOULD appear somewhere together.”
Titled GSL50, the set will be available in November on vinyl and CD and will feature previously unreleased tracks by (among others) The Locust, De Facto, Vue, 90 Day Men, Sunshine, Soiled Doves (previously The Vogue), Dead And Gone, The Pattern, and Heart Of Snow.
Just out from GSL is the first CD release of last year’s Flight Of The Wounded Locust EP, previously available on 7" vinyl. The new disc has 11 frenetic and twisty tracks by San Diego strange ones The Locust, and clocks in at just over 10 minutes. Included are five tracks previously available only on the Locust/Arab On Radar split 7". | Gold Standard Laboratories records | | The Locust | | top of page |
