3 October 2001

New Brunswick, Canada born singer/songwriter Julie Doiron toured solo this July, and over the past two months with the temporarily reunited Eric’s Trip. Somehow she also had time to put together a new album, titled Désormais and set for simultaneous release in Canada and the US next Tuesday. Her Canadian label for this French language disc is Endearing Records, while for the US and the rest of the world it’s JagJaguwar.
For Désormais (English: from now on) Doiron worked with producer Dave Draves (Lister, King Kung, The Occasionals) at Little Bullhorn studios in Ottawa.
Also on tap is a second album by Julie Doiron & The Wooden Stars, currently expected in February 2002. An English language LP, it follows their fragile and gorgeous self-titled debut released early last year. Dale Morningstar (Dinner Is Ruined) is producing the sessions at the Gas Station studios in Toronto.
    Doiron plays at Montréal’s Casa Del Popolo on 25 October with Snailhouse. | Julie Doiron | | Endearing Records | | JagJaguwar Records | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
