Stratford 4 sign to Jetset, announce debut LP 25 October 2001 A couple of self-released EPs had started a buzz in the bay area, with the music press making comparisons to The Velvet Underground and My Bloody Valentine. (Fair, but Id suggest that the closest points of reference for this very interesting new band are The Church and The Telescopes.) In any case, it has all lead up to last months signing to New York indie label Jetset (home to David Candy, Black Box Recorder, Macha, ...), a showcase at this months rescheduled CMJ festival, and a debut album slated for 5 February 2002. The LP will be titled The Revolt Against Tired Noises, the same name the band gave their debut EP. The new Revolt... will contain most of the tracks from the first EP and its follow-up, This Could Be Heaven. Look for an album review on Rockbites closer to the time of the LPs release. You can listen to seven of the bands songs on their own streaming Web radio station, available from their site; or download a couple of MP3s. Weve linked directly to Hydroplane, which will appear on the new album. | Stratford 4 | | Hydroplane (full length MP3) | | top of page | |
