Young Welsh neo-psychedelicists Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci have just announced that they are postponing a major US tour that was to have started 6 November in Los Angeles and run for three weeks, ending 26 November in Washingtonk, DC. A spokesperson said “Gorky’s are very disappointed to have to cancel the tour and oplogize to any fans that it may have inconvenienced. A new tour will be scheduled in early 2002 and dates will be announced very soon.”
Gorky’s were to have toured with North Carolina’s Superchunk on most dates of the North American leg of their fall world tour. Superchunk are continuing as planned (use our Find box to get to our story on that tour).
In September, GZM released their seventh full length album, How I Long To Feel That Summer In My Heart. The new LP features new drummer Peter Richardson and was produced by Gorwel Owen. Richardson replaced founding member Euros Rowlands, who left the band in August of 2000. | Gorky's Zygotic Mynci | | GZM on Mantra Recordings | | GZM on Beggars Banquet | | CD from Amazon US | | discography | | top of page |
