Christina Rosenvinge + Chris Lee tour US west coast
16 October 2001

Starting tonight in Los Angeles, Smells Like Records artists Christina Rosenvinge and Chris Lee play nine dates in the western US. The pair of NYC singer/songwriters will perform separately but share the same backing band (which happen to be Rosenvinge’s current recording band), featuring Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley along with guitarist Tim Foljahn (who, with Shelley, plays in Two Dollar Guitar) and bassist Jeremy Wilms.
Rosenvinge, of Danish descent and born in Madrid, is currently working on a follow-up to her January 2001 debut Frozen Pool. Previous work includes vocal contributions to the debut LP by Two Dollar Guitar, and before that some Latin albums as part of the duo Alex Y Christina.
Chris Lee was born in North Carolina but now calls Brooklyn home. He’s released two records produced by Steve Shelley, the most recent being Chris Lee Plays & Sings Torch’d Songs, Charivari Hymns & Oriki Blue-Marches. His band was scheduled to play this month’s US All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in Los Angeles—but as we reported last week, the 11 September attacks and their aftermath have forced the postponement of that event until mid-March 2002.
The dates for the upcoming Rosenvinge/Lee tour are

October
16 - Los Angeles (The Fold at Silverlake Lounge)
17 - Tuscon (Club Congress)
18 - Los Angeles (Knitting Factory)
19 - Los Angeles (The Smell)
20 - Las Vegas (Cooler Lounge)
22 - San Francisco (Make Out Room)
23 - Eugene (Wow Hall)
24 - Portland (Crystal Ballroom)
25 - Seattle (Crocodile Café)
