The Intima play Positive Force benefit tonight
12 October 2001

Portland/Olympia area experimental hardcore quartet The Intima play a benefit tonight for social activist organization Positive Force DC. Proceeds from the show will benefit My Sister’s Place, a shelter for battered women in the nation’s capitol, and the Empower Program, a gender-based-violence awareness program of the Washington, DC area United Way charities.
The Positive Force benefit is one stop on The Intima’s current US tour, which carries them through 27 October for a homecoming show at The Blackbird in Portland, Oregon.
The band released their debut CD-EP No Lullaby For Sleep this year on Northern California indie Zum Records, from whom you can buy the disc online. They recorded the songs at Seattle’s AVAST! studios—sometime home for Built To Spill, and for the Yo-Yo-A-Go-Go sessions. While they hope to go back into the studio next month to start sessions for a full length, they say they’re out of money and looking for donations.
