Desman to release 4-track debut in January
8 November 2001

London indie label Org Records (the UK launch pad for such bands as The Dandy Warhols, Cay, and My Vitriol) received a seven track demo from new London quartet Desman a couple of months ago, and liked what they heard. They’ve just released one track from the leftfield/guitar band, titled Young Fresh And Dead, on the Org’s current free sampler. You can pick it up by visiting their Web site.
Now Org has announced that on 14 January they’ll release Desman’s debut single on CD format with four tracks. It will be available through the label’s singles subscription series as Org-An-Ised Single Number 18, and at better record shops through Plastichead Distribution.
Desman (front man John Halo, guitarist Bambi, bass player Tommy Luther, and drummer Silvio Minnemann) named themselves not after the aquatic, insectivorous mammal with long snout and scaly tail; but for the Slavic mythological demon that possesses a person to perform evil deeds only to then kill their human host when finished. Desman’s upcoming shows are 27 Nov at the Camden Barfly in London, and 10 January at Downstairs At The Garage in Highbury. | Desman | | Org Records | | top of page |
