Bis release limited edition 12" with Joy Division track
28 November 2001

Glasgow musical shapeshifters Bis (vocalist and keyboards player Amanda MacKinnon aka Manda Rin plus multi-instrumentalists Steven and John Clark; along with new live drummer Graham Christie) released their third album, and their first in two years, this fall in the US and Australia and last week in the UK on Artful. Titled Return To Central, it is Bis 'grown up' according to official publicity.
Their US label (spinART) have now made available a very limited number of 12" vinyl copies of a promotional single featuring the anthemic LP opening track What You’re Afraid Of b/w a previously unreleased Bis cover of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart. You can get the single direct from spinArt’s Website.
If you liked Joy-Division-phoenix New Order and can picture them with a bit more range and edge and if that sounds good to you, you’ll want to check out Return To Central. We find it peachy. Its musical substance shines through the set’s accessiblity, and it all gets better the more you listen.
Bis recently finished a US tour and have a couple of DJ sets coming up in Spain and Scotland—check their Website. | Bis | | spinART Records | | top of page |
