I Am The World Trade Center change their name
27 November 2001

“Out of respect to those who have lost so much in [the 11 September] tragedy,” New York city electronica duo I Am The World Trade Center have temporarily shortened their name to I Am The World.
In another and more tangible gesture, the band (vocalist Amy Dykes; and synths programmer Dan Geller, also member of Kincaid and co-owner with Ryan Lewis of Kindercore Records) are also henceforth donating a portion of the proceeds from their June 2001 debut LP, Out Of The Loop, to the United Way of New York’s September 11th Fund.
They wrote yesterday “The name and symbol will still live with us and in the future we hope that once again we can use our entire name which we are so proud of.” | IATWTC on Kindercore | | United Way's Sept 11 Fund | | Out Of The Loop CD from Amazon US | | top of page |
