23 November 2001

Upstate New York surrealists Mercury Rev, fresh from an appearance earlier this month on BBC2’s Later With Jools Holland during the European leg of their current world tour, are set to perform live on American television Monday night. They’ll play new track The Dark Is Rising from their 2001 LP All Is Dream on CBS Television’s Late Late Show With Craig Claiborn, which starts 12:30 am in most markets.
Mercury Rev—founders Jonathan Donahue (vocals & guitars) and Grasshopper (born Sean Mackiowiak, guitars) along with recent members Adam Snyder (keyboards) and Jeff Mercel (drums & piano)—started a North American tour last night in Toronto, continuing 12 December with a show in New York city. From the US they head to Japan for a week of dates.
Now through 26 December you can get streaming audio or audio+video of a Mercury Rev performance recorded 14 November at Amsterdam’s Crossing Border festival—check our link. | Mercury Rev | | tour dates | | 14 Nov show from Amsterdam (site in Dutch) | | discography | | top of page |
